I hope you found my healthy hair solution about local fresh-market food options to be helpful. I have replaced a few items in my snack drawer as well. This month I have another natural tip for you, that is inexpensive and easy to access here in the great historic downtown arts & entertainment district.
Dear Tashi, I have been natural for 10 years and I have found that lately my hair is shedding more than usual. What should I do? -Nisla
Don’t panic Lady Nisla. Our head sheds an average of 50 to 100 hairs a day on its own. These are the normal phases of hair growth. However, our bodies often send us signs of distress that let us know when we may need to slow down and relax more. Sometimes we are suffering from hair loss due to stress related issues. Did you know that an excellent all natural stress reliever and hair strengthener is herbal tea? Yes, tea is a 3 for 1 special that will allow the body to expel toxins, relax the mind, and nurture the hair.
The best teas for hair care are black, green, and oolong. These teas actually come from the same leaf that has gone through natural stages of oxidation. Each help prevent hair loss by making the hair follicle thicker, longer, and stronger. They also stimulate your dry scalp, preventing eczema and dandruff. The caffeine in black, green, and oolong tea blocks Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), thus making it optimal for anti shedding.
One of my favorite places for a soothing cup of tea is Winterbloom Tea, where the owner is a good friend of mine. Being a Washington native, I have had a rough time kicking my coffee habit lately. One day I met the tea guru Josh! Josh opened up his magical tin bins (must see it to believe it), and mixed a white chocolate mocha tea blend just for me. I could not believe that this tea tasted like my favorite coffee drink. I am still in shock. I get the same flavor and energy boost without the added sugars that are harmful to my health. He recommends using loose leaf tea to get the full benefit of the tea leaf. Of course the best quality can be found at Winterbloom Tea located on Hay Street in Downtown Fayetteville. Another tip I will offer is to add tea rinsing to your hair cleansing regiment. Your beautiful tresses will be thanking Tashi!

Dear Tashi, my biggest natural hair issue is retention, what can I do? -Stacie
Lady Stacie, are you aware that we can change most of our hair’s outcome with little changes in our food input? Our hair is constructed of amino acids and protein. It is imperative that you eating foods that are high in essential fatty acids to supply your hair with the fatty acids that are necessary to be strong. Healthy and fresh choices from the local farmer’s market located in your town such as nuts, soy, seed-bearing plants, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchinis, beans, and corn to name a few are what you need. One of my favorite places to frequent is the Farmers market located in Bronco Square on Murchison Road. Always remember that your input is going to affect your output in all that you do, so if you are going to ask Tashi that is where we will start. A product will not save you from destroying the vessel. Let us begin within. Another tip I will offer is to find a way to eat your favorite choice in the RAW state. Please keep the questions coming my people.
